it starts the way it always seems to do conclusions have their own beginnings too some silence for the victims kindness killed and left their old positions to be filled now accepting applications, retractions, and explanations you can just tell this will end well let's hope so, 'cause God knows it's gonna end all at once the old light was relit some scattered pieces threatening to fit not finding, so inventing a downside that's what they mean by overqualified

everybody's trying to be my villain and i was unaware of the vacancy some people predict bad news and hope it never happens and others are content to assume authority and maybe someday i will not be destitute and i will be kicked by a better brand of boot everybody's trying to be my villain the line keeps getting longer and that cannot be good i guess i should be grateful for all of the attention i guess i should be bitter that i'm never understood i asked them for a hand and they lifted a finger due to some concerns about losing their grip i understood completely and thanked them for the effort but i'm not one for breaking bottles on a sinking ship

oh honey, please, will you take pity on a poor boy with more money now than sense don't want to hear all about the way the world works I don't want time or distance I had a nickel for every time I heard that and to no one's great surprise I wasted every dime on food and shelter and was roundly criticized even even though I might stop I know what I think and I've been thinking a lot it may be time now to consider other offers cause it's later than you think you have seen me all surrounded by those bright lights don't it make my blue eyes blink I haven't always known why but I got the general idea obvious and unknown at the end of the year

Genius 02:41
I’m only worth my weight in earth but I’ve learned the fact an arm in every arm means two knives in every back and I might be a genius But a clever bastard’s still a bastard still a big drag I recommend you start to mend and wave your old white flags ‘cause everyone’s a genius Where I go, I know there’s nothing for me, but you have told lies and called too late to warn me I know, yeah, I know I tried for laughs but came in last, I’ll have to try harder they’re sending out the clowns to make room for the martyrs but I might be a genius To be or not to be or not to care either way you might be right, it’s worth the fight, but I can’t work that way when everyone’s a genius

Another wasted afternoon spent blocking someone's view for all I know how you could do without what I'm doing without you The ancient boy was singing songs that he wrote just for her but she's not feeling anything but out of character All your life with your majorettes all your life with your building bricks The kicker was the china plates the queen broke on the floor and all the kids were begging her please to break some more The ancient boy was singing songs that he wrote just for her but she's not feeling anything but out of character All your life with your majorettes all your life with your building bricks I'll take my time to find I'm losing your mind and it's all my own fault 'Til you get tired and I'm inspired to find it's all my own fault The ancient boy was singing songs that he wrote just for her but she's not feeling anything but out of character All your life with your majorettes all your life with your building bricks all your life with your majorettes all your life with your building bricks

about

During the first weekend of April, 2016, Adam Kline and Dave Brockman recorded these five songs in Dave's house. Now Accepting Applications is a brand new song. All Your Life is a song originally written for the first Golden Shoulders album in 2001 that was left off of that album. All of these recordings are new and homemade. Adam sang and played guitar. Dave drummed and played keyed instruments and sang. We had a good time. Mastered by Dana Gumbiner.
